Artist's Comments

watercolor, ink. 2005

I like to doodle circles and semi-circular shapes in my spare time. This is one of my earlier attempts at adding color and exploring the idea of a doodle composition.

Wow. I almost couldn't believe this is trad, when I first saw it--its got a fractal perfection to it that is amazing. I love the colors, and how you layed them; it creates a simply gorgeous atmosphere!

(and why'd you delete your latest?)

Thanks so much for the comment!
It's so nice to get such a warm response from these doodle paintings! I guess I'll keep doing them!
(Oh, and I didn't so much delete my latest, I just deleted it and re-submitted it because I couldn't get it to show up in my gallery...some sort of glitch....)

These drawing remind me of cells :) cross-section of grass, volvox, that kind of thing. But of course there's more to them.
I just want to say that I like these doodles very much, they are all different and very beautiful :)

thanks very much! I am definitely inspired by cellular images, especially plant cells, and I'm trying to incorporate scientific imagery more and more as I doodle these days. Some microscopic things are just so beautiful I can't help but think of them as I work.
